Inspired by her mother’s work ethic and dedication to community, Ruth became a lifelong volunteer fundraiser and community builder. She was a universal genius of philanthropy, not specializing in one single discipline or cause, but touching institutions as diverse as the IWK Health Centre, Symphony Nova Scotia, the United Way, and many of the province’s universities.
