Eligibility
Guidelines PDF (artsnb.ca): the nominated artist must "be a Canadian citizen, have an affiliation with a First Nation on Turtle Island, be a permanent resident of Canada or have an application for permanent residence in process," have "resided in New Brunswick for at least one year (12 months) prior to the nomination deadline," "resided in New Brunswick for at least five years in total (consecutive or non-consecutive)," and have "made exceptional contributions to the development of the arts in the province." Restrictions: "not open to early-career artists" and "cannot be awarded posthumously."
What to send
Guidelines PDF: "Individuals, groups or organizations can nominate an artist for an award. As of the 2025 deadline, it is also permitted that artist may self-nominate." Nomination package (mandatory): nomination letter (max 1000 words), artist CV, biography (max 500 words), samples of work, 2-3 letters of recommendation. Artists cannot receive more than one LGA in their lifetime; may not be nominated by an employer or immediate family member.
