Eligibility
Candidates must be Canadian citizens, identify as Black, and the original creators of the musical submission are eligible to apply for this award. In the case a collective use for the Award, all music creators must meet the eligibility criteria. – The competition is open to music creators who are of Black descent. – If the applicant is a collective/band, all members must meet the eligibility criteria. – Candidates must be Canadian and SOCAN members or Canadians who are not members of any performing rights organization.
What to send
– Candidates are required to upload recording(s) into the SOCAN Foundation Data Management System for judging purposes.
