Eligibility
Program guide (French): "Être citoyen canadien ou résident permanent" (be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident); "Être un artiste professionnel des arts visuels ou des métiers d'art, une personne morale dont un tel artiste a le contrôle ou un regroupement de tels artistes qui n'est pas une personne morale" (be a professional visual/craft artist, a legal entity controlled by such an artist, or a group of such artists that is not a legal entity); "Avoir occupé, à titre de locataire ou de propriétaire, un atelier d'artistes situé à Gatineau" (have occupied, as tenant or owner, an artist's studio located in Gatineau). "Professional artist" is defined by the city's Regulation 833-2-2023 as someone who creates works for their own account, declares themselves a professional artist, whose works are exhibited/produced/published/marketed by a distributor, and who has received peer recognition (an award, prize, grant, jury selection, etc.) or is eligible for Canada Council programs.
What to send
Completed form; proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residence; artist CV; ten (10) photographs of the artist's works (each of a different work); membership card of a professional association, if applicable; proof of studio costs paid (lease/invoices for a tenant, or bank/tax statement for an owner).
